Engaging school children in church-based social action projects

The Diocese of London has produced a toolkit for engaging school children in church-based social action projects.
 
The toolkit accompanies a 5 minute video produced by the Diocese of London, showcasing the relationship between St Luke’s Church Millwall, St Luke’s CE Primary School and their local winter night shelter. For the last few years, St Luke’s CE Primary’s Year 6 pupils have volunteered with the local night shelter, run by Christian charity GrowTH. 

The toolkit gives links to information, benefits of children involvement, aspects of safeguarding, FAQs, resources for teaching children about social action & volunteering, an example risk assessment and a sample letter to parents.
