Darwin is a husband, father of three, and entrepreneur from Tegucigalpa, Honduras. His business journey has been helped by Global de Empresarios Pacto (Global). They are a ministry of Darwin’s church.

Darwin started a restaurant in 2018 - Pollopolis (Chicken City) after many years of hard work in the food industry, including as a franchisee. At the beginning of 2017, his family, three business partners and Darwin had the idea of becoming independent and started creating their first official location under their nationwide Pollopolis brand.

At Pollopolis, they buy, process, and prepare food products like fried and roasted chicken, as well as side dishes like potatoes, salads, yuca, and rice. Today, they have 14 locations in the south-central area of Honduras and are still expanding.

They've reached the southern part of the country where poverty is quite extreme, and hire people who earned very little in their previous jobs and pay them well. Additionally, they open doors to employing families. It's been very positive on the families and on the community.

Starting a business in Honduras isn't easy. Many businesses don't pay their employees their full salaries and undercut the prices of their final products, and that creates unfair competition. The challenges of maintaining that quality, that consistency in Pollopolis products isn't easy. Their goals are always to continue serving the community and to grow responsibly, allowing them to generate jobs and satisfy demand.

They've always entrusted every business they have undertaken to God, and they know that without Him, they are nothing. They dedicate and have declared that these businesses are God's and that they are simply administrators.

The support that Global provided - mentoring, leadership training, learning how to structure a business plan, and how to structure the management of a small business - has all proven very fundamental.
